Jews…and Everyone Else: Navigating Jewish Identity in a non-Jewish World
In this engaging Hadar Beit Midrash series we will examine the complex ways, whether religious, social, cultural or political, Jews have and continue to negotiate living in a non-Jewish world.
This week's class is entitled, "Symbolism
and Sanctity: Can Jews and Christians Study the Bible Together?," and it will be
taught by Reverend Leslie Merlin.
Join Pastor Leslie Merlin and members of the Second Presbyterian Church (Kehilat
Hadar's "home") as we study one of the most challenging passages in Christian
Scripture, John 14:1-4. In the past this passage has served as a serious
barrier between the Christian and Jewish communities, come see what happens when
we grapple with it together.
Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Location: JCC in Manhattan (334 Amsterdam Avenue at 76th Street)
