Birthday Learn & Lunch

Celebrate Kehilat Hadar's 14th birthday with a Learn and Lunch following Shabbat morning services. We'll learn from Jeremy Tabick in a session entitled "In Defense of 'An Eye for an Eye'"and afterwards enjoy a catered dairy lunch. 
Lunch costs $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 5-12. (Kids under 3 are free). Registration closes at 10 AM on Wednesday April 22.

Register Now! Registration for lunch is now closed, but some spaces may still be available. Email sarah@kehilathadar.org to be added to the waiting list. Everyone is welcome to attend Shabbat morning services and the session taught by Jeremy.

In Defense of "An Eye for an Eye"
Lex talionis, the law of retaliation, may be one of the most maligned principles in the Torah. What is it about? What motivates it? In what ways does it actually make a lot of sense? We'll analyze the original source material in the Torah and a string of Rabbinic interpretations in order to make sense of this controversial and surprisingly elusive principle.
