Hazon "Learn and Lunch" with Mechon Hadar

Date:

February 7, 2015 - 9:00am

Location:

Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan, at 805 Columbus Ave at 100th

Kehilat Hadar, Mechon Hadar, and Hazon are joining forces to present a “Learn and Lunch” program!

Dena Weiss, Rosh Beit Midrash at Yeshivat Hadar, will teach a session entitled “Rebellious Earth - A Fresh Look at the First Sin.” See full description below.

Shabbat morning services start at 9 AM, followed by kiddush, learning, and then a catered meat lunch with vegetarian options. **Please note the order of events, as it differs slightly from our standard schedule.**

This event is subsidized by a grant from Hazon. Registration is $10 for adults over 13 yrs.

Registration for lunch is now closed, and we can no longer accommodate late registrations. Everyone is welcome to join us for services, kiddush, and the learning session even if you haven't registered for lunch.

And if you weren't able to join us this time, we hope we'll see you us at the upcoming community dinner on February 20.

Description: In this class we’ll encounter the sin of eating from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge from the vantage point of the fruit and the tree, rather than from the perspective of Adam and Eve. We'll address questions including: What was the sin? What caused it? What does it represent? And, how can we use this knowledge to help us see our world differently and work to improve it?
