Food for Thought Kiddush-Time Shiur

July 30, 2016 - 12:00pm

Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan, at 805 Columbus Ave at 100th

Join us for a shiur during the end of kiddush. Jeremy Tabick will teach about the idea of "muktzeh" - objects which are forbidden to touch on Shabbat. Is it a secondary fence around the "real" laws of melakhah (forbidden labor), or is it an essential way to observe a Shabbat that is object-oriented and not action-oriented? This brief shiur will overlap the end of kiddush, so there'll be plenty of time to nosh, chat, learn, and still make it to lunch on time.
