Please join us for a Lunch and Learn co-sponsored by Kehilat Hadar and Mechon Hadar! Rabbi Ethan Tucker will teach a shiur entitled "When Halacha and morality collide." We can all think of situaitons in which the halachah seems to contradict what we think is the right thing to do. How do you navigate that tension? We will explore this question through the case of a kohen who can't stand to deliver the priestly blessing.
The RSVP form has now closed, but all are welcome to join us for Shabbat morning services!
Rabbi Tucker was one of the founders of Kehilat Hadar, and is President and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Hadar. Ethan was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and earned a doctorate in Talmud and Rabbinics from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is the author, along with Rabbi Micha'el Rosenberg, of Gender Equality and Prayer in Jewish Law (2017).
Services start at 9 AM. There will be a kiddush lunch including both meat and vegetarian options sponsored by Meir Schecter and Emily Menchel in honor of their fathers' yahrtzeits. The shiur will start during the end of kiddush.
