Donations to Kehilat Hadar
Kehilat Hadar relies on your donations to maintain its financial stability. All of the money you donate is used to fund our operating costs and programming. Your donation has a direct impact on our ability to continue providing year-round high quality davening and programming. We raise the bulk of our operating budget in our fall campaign. (Please note that Shaare Zedek maintains its own membership drive and High Holiday ticketing process.)
Our annual fundraising goal is to raise $100,000 during our 5784 fundraising drive.
We ask that community members who regularly attend KH services and programs donate $390 per person (or $180 for full-time students). Donating at this level is one way to qualify for voting membership. You may indicate your interest in membership when registering.
For families with children, we are also requesting a donation of $70.
We request a minimum donation of $11 per month ($130 for the year). Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
We do not turn anyone away for lack of funds. Please email financialaid@kehilathadar.org if cost is a barrier to your participation.
If you already made a donation to the 5784 campaign, you will receive a coupon code by email to bypass the payment requirement for High Holiday services registration.
If you would like to make your donation on a monthly recurring basis, please do so via the campaign page, after which you’ll receive your coupon code to register for High Holiday services, as the High Holiday registration form cannot accommodate recurring contributions. Please email any questions to donations@kehilathadar.org.
Additionally, we will be printing a Yizkor Memorial Book and anyone can add their loved ones' names to it with a donation of $18 per name. Learn more here.
Babysitting & Kids Programming
Staffed Playroom, Tot Shabbat/Family Service, and Junior Minyan will be offered on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The staffed playroom is primarily intended as a designated play space for children under age 5 (pre-K). Please be aware that parents and caregivers are expected to return to the room during the hours that programming is offered to check on their kid(s). Parents and caregivers are still responsible for changing diapers, supervising trips to the bathroom, and returning if a child is in need of more supervision. Family Service is geared toward children ages 0–5 with an accompanying adult. Junior Minyan is geared towards children 5+. If you plan to use kids programming on either day, please email kids@kehilathadar.org or jessie@kehilathadar.org.
Volunteering
Kehilat Hadar and Shaare Zedek depend on volunteers to run all aspects of its programs. You'll have opportunities to sign up to volunteer for High Holidays and for year-round services during the registration process, and we encourage you to do so!
For other ways to get involved, including during the rest of the year, visit: kehilathadar.org/get-involved or email contact@kehilathadar.org.
Learn High Holiday Melodies
Get a preview of some of the High Holiday melodies that we will be using:
- Listen to High Holiday melodies in our curated Yamim Noraim playlist
- Download Pri Eitz Hadar, our very own CD originally released in 2004, now available as a digital download! It includes a number of High Holiday melodies we use on the High Holidays.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
We wish you a happy and healthy year!
*Our annual Shavuot Retreat is not included in our operating budget as we structure it to pay for itself through registration fees. As in the past, our 2024 Shavuot Retreat will feature discounted pricing for members. For some ways to get involved visit: kehilathadar.org/get-involved or email contact@kehilathadar.org.
