NOTE: We have reached capacity for all KHSZ High Holiday services. You can sign up for the waitlist through the link below for either/both days of Rosh Hashanah and/or for Yom Kippur, and you will be notified if a space becomes available. Please log in prior to registering. You can pledge your donation by choosing "bill-to account" when you register.
Services
Here’s what you can look forward to at KHSZ High Holiday services:
- Inspiring, participatory, traditional egalitarian davening led by Rabbi Julia Andelman, along with other community members
- Thoughtful divrei Torah by Rabbi Dena Weiss (on Yom Kippur) and other community members
- Family-friendly programming
Location
Kehilat Hadar and Shaare Zedek meet at 210 West 93rd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam.
Accessibility
There is a Shabbat elevator which stops at each floor.
Registration
Please register everyone attending, including all children. Please only sign up if you plan on coming, and contact us if you need to cancel. We cannot offer refunds for donations.
Contributions
KHSZ depends upon your contributions to maintain its financial stability. All funds donated will be used for our services and programs in our beautiful new space, including building operating expenses, salaries, and security. Your support directly impacts our ability to continue providing high-quality davening and programming year-round.
The goal of our 5785 fundraising drive is to raise $250,000 across Kehilat Hadar and Shaare Zedek. Please use this registration as an opportunity to donate to our annual campaign.
- [New]: KH and SZ are both using a fair share contributions model, requesting an annual donation of 1%-2% of gross household income. [Learn more]
- For High Holidays, we request a minimum donation of $180 per adult (ages 12+). We also request an additional donation of $80 per family with children.
- To become a voting member of KH for 2025, we request a donation of $500 per adult (or $250 per adult as financial circumstances require). You may indicate your interest in voting membership when registering.
We do not turn anyone away for lack of funds. Please email financialaid@kehilathadar.org if cost is a barrier.
If you have already donated to KH, renewed your SZ membership, or arranged for financial aid, you will receive an email with a registration code and instructions for High Holidays services. If you have any questions about registration, please reply to that email.
If you would like to make your donation on a monthly recurring basis, please do so via the campaign page, as the High Holidays registration form cannot accommodate recurring contributions. After doing so, you’ll receive your coupon code to register for High Holidays services. If you have any questions about registration, please reply to that email.
Babysitting & Kids Programming
KHSZ offers a staffed playroom (babysitting), Tot Shabbat/Mini Minyan, and Junior Minyan.
The staffed playroom is primarily intended as a designated play space for children under age 5. Parents and caregivers are responsible for changing diapers, supervising trips to the bathroom, and returning if a child is in need of more supervision.
Tot Shabbat/Mini Minyan is geared towards kids ages 0-5. This spirited service will familiarize growing learners with the davening and inspire them with joyful songs.
Junior Minyan is geared towards elementary school- and pre-B'nai Mitzvah-aged kids. This service features lively davening and parsha-based discussions.
There will be a designated space available for older kids to hang out during Yom Kippur services.
Please email kids@kehilathadar.org with any questions or if you would like to volunteer to help with kids' programming.
Volunteering
KHSZ relies on volunteers to run its programs. During the registration process, you will have opportunities to sign up to volunteer for High Holidays (and for year-round services): we welcome your participation!
For other ways to get involved, including during the rest of the year, visit: kehilathadar.org/get-involved or email contact@kehilathadar.org.
Learn High Holiday Melodies
Get a preview of some of the High Holiday melodies that we will be using:
- Listen to High Holiday melodies in our curated Yamim Noraim playlist
- Download Pri Eitz Hadar, our very own CD originally released in 2004, now available as a digital download! It includes a number of melodies we use on the High Holidays.
We wish you a healthy, happy, and fulfilling year!
*Our annual Shavuot Retreat is not included in our operating budget as we structure it to pay for itself through registration fees. As in the past, our 2025 Shavuot Retreat will feature discounted pricing for members.
