Kol Nidrei audio streaming

We plan to stream the audio of Kol Nidre services for anyone who is unable to join services in person this year. Kol Nidre ends before sundown, and we will turn the stream off before yom tov begins.

Outdoor Shofar Blowing

Multiple UWS locations along Broadway

Join us for shofar blowing on the second day of Rosh Hashanah! Members of the KH/SZ community will be blowing 30 kolot (blasts), the halachic minimum, on the corners of 91st, 93rd, and 110th and Broadway at 4:00 PM as part of a wider UWS shofar blowing initiative. Choose whichever intersection is most convenient for you.

We will also be blowing all 100 kolot (blasts) immediately after in-person services, at 12:15 PM, at Sakura Park (122nd and Riverside). All are welcome.

Tisha B'Av: Ma'ariv and Eicha Reading

via Zoom conference (register to receive the conference link)

Join Kehilat Hadar and Shaare Zedek for Ma'ariv services and a reading of Eicha. Since we can’t be together in person to form a minyan right now, no barechu or kaddish will be recited, and we will use an alternative prayer instead of mourner's kaddish for people to acknowledge the loss of a loved one. 

The service will be held via Zoom. The Zoom conference information will be provided in the registration receipt.

Purim Kids Program & Seudah

Schechter Manhattan, at 805 Columbus Ave, entrance 100th St.
 
Join us for a celebratory Purim children's seudah (festive meal), co-organized with Shaare Zedek!
 
We'll have an art project, songs, a children's megillah reading, and the assembly of matanot la'evyonim (gifts for the poor) care packages for homeless members of our UWS community. Everyone is encouraged to attend in costume.
 
Dinner is $15 per adult and $10 per child (kids under 3 are free). Please register by Sunday, March 8.

Purim Evening Services and Megillah Reading

Schechter Manhattan, at 805 Columbus Ave, entrance 100th St.

 

Join us for a festive Maariv & Megillah reading
Costumes are encouraged! Afterwards, stick around for a Purim "kiddush."  

Kids
Kids are welcome, as always, in the main service. We will not be holding a separate children's program, nor will we have child supervision in the side classroom. 

Participate from home
If you are not feeling well, showing any symptoms (sneezing, coughing), or are under quarantine, please stay home, rest, and do not come to shul. Individuals with specific health concerns should consult their medical team and/or the latest official guidance in making their decision about whether to attend.

For those unable to attend megillah reading, we will offer a livestream of megillah reading on the KH Facebook page. (Please see below for guidance from our halachic advisor, Rabbi Ethan Tucker, regarding being unable to attend a megillah reading in person.)
