On this Shabbat we will read Parashat Zachor, the biblical passage that describes the battle with Amalek. The Torah instructs us to recall this story and it is customary to fulfill this commandment by hearing the passage read directly from the Torah on the Shabbat before Purim.

In order to enable more members of the community to hear Parashat Zachor, we will offer additional readings following Shabbat morning services. The reading will take place at Schechter Manhattan and will be held outdoors on the balcony, weather permitting. Depending on demand, we may schedule multiple consecutive readings in order to maintain social distancing. Advance registration is required, following the same attendance policies as Shabbat morning services. (Note that you do not need to register here if you plan to register to attend in-person services that week.)
